After the completion of Nightlab, while I was searching for a story to film, I came up with a vague image of an unknown man sitting inside a stationed car. Building upon that, I wrote a treatment of one page, consisting of various images linked to the main visual idea.

Skipping the casting process, I decided early on to collaborate with the actor Konstantinos Lagos who was interested in playing the part of the driver after watching Nightlab.

Vessel was shot from November 2005 till April 2006 with no crew, in an intermittent shooting period. The use of early morning light along with the scenery of the forrest helped me create an atmosphere which was in synch with what I had in mind.
